    1. Dave,
Go to your FB page and type my name into their search engine. You still have your FB account, don’t you? I remember discussing with you on FB that Al Kimel fellow a while back before your illness. I referred to him, accurately and inoffensively, as a “man of the cloth” and he got bent out of shape. Strange dude. Narcissistic. Touchy. A lefty.

      1. Thanks Bill. All you wrote is true!
I am however reading his book “Destined for Joy” and getting some blessing out of it..
        Off to facebook
        Dave

  1. “Pope Leo seems to be ignorant of some of the basics of Islam, but so, one can assume, are the advisors and speech writers who should have caught his mistakes.”

    Thanks for the link, Bill.

Kilpatrick has a good understanding of the huge theological and philosophical chasm that separates orthodox Catholic (and indeed Christian) thought from that of Islam. And no one can deny the value of the work that he has done over the years to inform Christians of this fact.

However, as usual, he backs off from exposing the true source of the benign view of Islam of Leo, his “advisors and speech writers,” which arises not from ignorance but rather from their espousal of the heresy of religious indifferentism. Just about the entire crew that make up the Catholic global episcopate now adhere to and practice what Cardinal Newman called “the religion of the day,” i.e., a Christianity that “drop[s]” …”one whole side of the Gospel, its austere character, and considering it enough to be benevolent, courteous, candid, correct in conduct, delicate,—though it includes no true fear of God, no fervent zeal for His honour, no deep hatred of sin, no horror at the sight of sinners, no INDIGNATION and compassion at the BLASPHAMIES OF HERETICS, NO JEALOUS ADHERENCE TO DOCTRINAL TRUTH [my capitalization], no especial sensitiveness about the particular means of gaining ends, provided the ends be good, no loyalty to the Holy Apostolic Church, of which the Creed speaks, no sense of the authority of religion as external to the mind: in a word, no seriousness,—and therefore is neither hot nor cold, but (in Scripture language) lukewarm.”* Indeed, with the BergoLEONs it is now not merely “lukewarm” toward orthodox dogma and doctrine but scornful of it.

Smiling liberal Leo from Chicago, the perfect PR man to soft-pedal moral and religious relativism and push for endless aggiornamento, is the embodiment of this heretical, indifferentist mindset that in alliance with the globalist left advocates the opening of all national borders, both here and in Europe, even as the Christian heritage and identity of the Old Continent is being eradicated by the legal and illegal migration of masses of Muslim men.

    Vito
