Curiously, this reminds me of my childhood. My parents would often say I had to choose between X or Z—whether it was a toy or a kids’ book, this candy or that snack, and so on. I used to think God worked the same way: that I could only ask for material things or spiritual things, but not both.
But God is all-powerful. Why limit Him? Just as He can provide both physical bread and spiritual bread, we can confidently ask for both.
