Such a Wonderful Pope!

He [Pope Francis] used his authority to protect sinister friends from justice, such as Father Marko Rupnik, a fellow Jesuit who was accused of the serial rape of more than a dozen nuns, sometimes in quasi-satanic rituals. Rupnik was excommunicated latae sententiae (automatically) after he granted absolution in the confessional to a woman with whom he was having sex. This was an offence of such enormity under the Code of Canon Law that only the Pope could lift the sentence. Rupnik was rehabilitated and to this day is a priest in good standing who is living in a convent (where else?). It is good to have friends in high places.

This  is hard to believe. Can you corroborate the above from your sources, Vito?

De mortuis nil nisi bonum has an expiration date, and in the case of some it comes up quick.

    Yes, Bill, this brief summary Bergoglio’s scandalous protection of his pal Rupnik, including the lifting of his excommunication, his incardination in the diocese of Koper in Slovenia, and his placement in the Italian Benedictine Convent of Montefielo in Casperia, is factually correct. The story is, however, even uglier, for Bergoglio actually reappointed Rupnik as a consultor to the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments in December 2021. And the mosaic “art,” ugly and evil as sin, of Rupnik is still found in numerous Catholic places of worship, including the Vatican. One more point: his sexual crimes against from 20 to 40 women from the 1980s though 2918 include rape, forced sexual acts, and coerced participation the viewing of pornography and in group sex. Bergoglio’s shielding and favoritism to sexual criminals involved many other clerics, including, to name just four of a larger group, ex-cardinal McCarrick (abused minors and seminarians for many decades), the Argentinian bishop Zanchetta (convicted of aggravated sexual abuse of seminarians), the Argentinian priest Grassi (convicted of sexually abusing minors), and the Italian priest Inzoli (convicted of sexually abusing five boys). All of these wicked actions by Bergoglio have either been ignored or excused in one way or another by his supporters: one of the most revolting features of his horrific pontificate.

    Imagine confessing your sins to this scumbag Rupnik or the many others like him. No doubt you are aware of the doctrine of ex opere operato. Any thoughts?
    And then there are the mindless innovations that these termitic ‘liberals’ introduce, such as renaming Confession “Reconciliation.” Makes no bloody sense. Two friends who became angry with each other, but value each other’s friendship, may become reconciled one to the other. Each admits his wrongdoing. But there is no reconciliation with the supreme moral authority of the universe. He is wholly in the right, and the fault is entirely with you, the creature.
    But even if one believes that ‘reconciliation’ is not an inappropriate term to use in the Creator-creature relationship, why the change? What’s wrong with ‘confession’?
    Do I really need to point out that change is not the same as improvement? But the main problem with leftists is not that they are stupid, but that they are destructive, both in the churches (not just the RCC) and in the secular sphere. To hell with them all, and the donkeys they rode in on.
