Musk Derangement Syndrome

Political pathologies are not to be multiplied praeter necessitatem, but given the praeter-natural lunacy of the Left, a certain amount of quasi-psychiatry is tolerable, and perhaps even helpful unto political salvation and national sanitation. Move over, TDS.

I now hand off to Roger Kimball.

    Right out of Macbeth indeed:
    https://x.com/libsoftiktok/status/1869898279716049128
    Round about the cauldron go;
    In the poison’d entrails throw.
    Toad, that under cold stone
    Days and nights hast thirty one
    Swelter’d venom sleeping got,
    Boil thou first i’ the charmed pot.
    Double, double toil and trouble;
    Fire burn and cauldron bubble.
    Fillet of a fenny snake,
    In the cauldron boil and bake;
    Eye of newt, and toe of frog,
    Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,
    Adder’s fork, and blind-worm’s sting,
    Lizard’s leg, and howlet’s wing,
    For a charm of powerful trouble,
    Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.

    I can see Hillary stirring that pot.

    I don’t remember reading Macbeth at the “Tech,” but I’ll take your word for it. But when I lived in Italy in the 1970s, and worked as a stonemason, I had some English roommates, and we had more than one copy of the complete works of Shakespeare, and we would sit around of a winter’s evening, and divide up the list of characters for a play, and read it out loud. All before the “net,” of course. It was great fun. And I have two copies of the complete works, to this day. The modern world has much to un-recommend it, and while I cannot live in the past, I do think I can get outside of time.
    Banquo in Macbeth, Scene III (a blasted heath)
    ” If you can look into the seeds of time, And say which grain will grow and which will not, Speak then to me, who neither beg nor fear Your favors nor your hate. ”
