The Awesome Power of TDS . . .

. . . is demonstrated by the fact that George F. Will, horribile dictu,  voted for Kamala Harris. The bow-tied, yap-and-scribble pussy-wussy is hard at work destroying whatever legacy he might have enjoyed had he not gone bonkers over DJT, something he has in common with the rest of the Bulwark bunch. Staunch conservative and constitutional scholar that he is, Will voted for four more years of a wide-open border, with all that that brings in its train, including Tren de Aragua, drug smuggling, human trafficking and slavery, gun running,  not to mention the other outrages Kamala would have continued, such as the trashing of the Constitution.

You won't find an entry for TDS in DSM-IV, but it is real, and it has no counterpart on the Right.

I hope that people like you can provide a rational explanation for such foolish and irrational acting out exhibited by men and women who should “know better”. It is beyond me.

Who cares anymore about George Will! Maybe he can try again during spring training to write something about baseball. That could be the most recent entry for his web presence, deflecting from the TDS nonsense and Kamala support.
    What a buffoon.

    Jim,
A rational explanation is beyond me, too. But part of it may be that people like Will just cannot look past style to substance. Trump’s style of self-presentation is so offensive to their elite sensibilities that it unhinges them. Will is not otherwise deranged, but he is, we might say, ‘topically deranged.’ So much so that he is willing to cut off his own nose to spite his face — as the saying goes.

I have thought about this for a bit since reading your reply. We both know that all of us are “bsers” to some degree; however, the rub comes when those who are on the receiving end of the “bs” come to question whether continuing to listen and give any degree of trust to the “bser” is of any value. Will is obviously at that point. David Brooks, he of the impeccable trouser crease, comes to mind as well.
This is reflection of the collapse of confidence in virtually all “institutions”. The citizen who is trying to live a virtuous and meaningful life has precious few sources of support and encouragement if their interest is sincere.
I appreciate your book, btw. I am going to give a copy to my son for Christmas and encourage him to share with his sons.
Best to you and your readers. Merry Christmas to all!
