Ready for Rage?

Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. Should Trump win, do you think our political enemies will accept the result, acquiesce in a peaceful transfer of power, and resolve to work harder next time? Expect a post-election temper tantrum:

Democrats have warned the country that Trump is a “danger to democracy,” a fascist, another Hitler. But it’s the Democrats who use the threat of violence to turn the election in their favor. “If Trump does win the election, the left in America will certainly riot,” says author and political commentator Douglas Murray. “They will make sure cities they believe they dominate go up in flames again.”

And they’ve apparently been considering the insurgent option for months. Jonathan Tobin wrote in the Federalist in February that Democrats “need a backup plan if the courts won’t do their bidding” to keep Trump out of the White House if he wins by “doing exactly what they labeled as ‘insurrection.'”

“A Trump victory would almost certainly set off bloody riots in every American city,” he said.

Hell hath no fury like the Democrats who won’t allow a peaceful transition of power.

I have to admit I’m very worried that they are going to steal the election again, even though it will be transparently obvious.
What’s going to stop them? I can easily imagine they steal it, everybody knows they stole it, and they laugh and say “So what are you going to do?” — and all the Dirt People and militia larpers just stare at their shoes and grumble, because they have no organization whatsoever, and no real idea what to do.
Meanwhile, if Trump loses there will be nationwide riots, Raskin and company refusing to certify in Congress, lawfare, and probably kino directed at Trump himself.
    I hope I’m wrong, but…

Me too, Malcolm. And I am not merely worried that the bastards will steal the election, but worse, that Trump will be assassinated. Trump arrived today in New Mexico in an unprotected plane as he usually does (very unlike Air Force One) emblazoned with the name TRUMP. Easy to shoot down. Iran would love to see him dead. And so would Biden, Pelosi, Hillary and the rest.
But back to your worry. What makes it even more worrisome is that the military has been undermined by wokesters such as Milley. So we can’t count on a military coup to set things right, if the election is stolen. Not that we want a military coup — civilian control of the military is one of the glories of our system.
Win or lose, we are probably in for SHTF. We can expect no-go zones, increasing Balkanization, assassinations, sabotage, poisoning of water supplies, and the vindication of the extreme preppers (I am not one). It’ll be every individual, family, neighborhood for itself. Armed enclaves. widespread suspicion, a dramatic increase in suicides. I hope I’m wrong. I’m too young to die! And too old to fight very effectively. No country for old men!
I feel sorry for the young who have no future. No wonder they don’t procreate!

    >>prepare for the worst<< Governors and mayors should: — prepare for drive-by shootings (residences and other places with Trump signs and stickers) — prepare for looting, especially of small businesses, but also larger malls — prepare for arson — review security measures at police stations, state and local government offices, and even synagogues — review laws on looting suppression, get legal opinions -- review protocols for dispatching SWAT teams — review laws on citizen use of force in self-defense — make public announcements that looters can be shot, if that is the law — review protocols for imposing a curfew — make plans for closing certain roadways — coordinate with telephone companies to send mass text messages about the curfew and looting suppression protocols — make plans for dispatching fire fighters — decide whether fire fighters should have police protection — review protocols for the use of tear gas, deadly force — review plans prohibiting the take-over of public places and schools by protestors — make plans for temporary mass detention facilities and for prosecution — review plans for putting national guard on stand by and for dispatching it to the scene if necessary — prepare press statements on rioting suppression measures in advance — make plans for closing schools and other venues

    Jim,
    I fully agree.
    >>— make plans for closing certain roadways<< Better: make provisions for the use of deadly force (if and only if necessary) to keep major traffic arteries (I-65 comes to mind) open for emergency vehicles, firefighters, ambulances, etc. should leftist thugs attempt to block them. Peaceable assembly and protest is constitutionally protected. But not national suicide.
