Another Reason to Pity Leftists

Leftists lack self-awareness. (That is what is called a generic statement.) They claim, against the evidence of his first term, that Donald J. Trump is a 'fascist,' a dictator, etc.  This is pure projection. Projection is a psychological defense mechanism. Not willing to admit their own totalitarian tendencies, lefties block them from view by projecting them into Trump, thereby displaying a remarkable lack of psychological self-transparency. A member of the MavPhil commentariat nails it:

Maybe Donald Trump will: forbid me to use tungsten light bulbs, take away my gas stove, force me to drive an electric car, outlaw my propane-fired forced air house heater, and make me rewire my house for electric heat, to the tune of thousands of dollars, and force me to use [invented] "pronouns," and thus unwillingly participate in another's mental illness ! [As when a confused teenage girl, under peer-group pressure, lacking critical-thinking skills, allows herself to be surgically mutilated so as to change her 'gender.']

You mean Trump will be a dictator like that?

Really ?

Further question: should we pity leftist fools or hate them? Hate has its uses. It energizes and inspires ameliorative action in a way that pity does not. Is there not such a thing as righteous anger? That's a rhetorical question, a declarative in the guise of an interrogative. It declares: there is such a thing as righteous anger!

Pity or hate? If they are projecting, then perhaps pity is the appropriate response. But many if not most of these bastards are lying. Truth, we know, is not a leftist value. Ergo, etc.

    Well I don’t pity them. I don’t necessarily hate them. I just want them to get the F out of my life.

    Being race-delusional, the bastards hear ‘segregation’ as ‘racial segregation’ which gives us another reason to either hate them, pity them, or separate from them.

    “If something cannot go on forever, it will stop.”

    How much longer can we peacefully coexist in “one republic” with people who live in a wholly different moral and cognitive universe?
    This cannot go on forever. (It may very well not even go on until 2025.)

    I share your pessimism. We may have only one year. But let’s say we have five. A lot can happen in five years. What were things like on this date five years ago? Not too bad, things were looking up. Now consider what has happened since then! And five years hence?
    No matter what the time frame, your pessimism is plainly justified, so justified in fact, that we should call it realism and not pessimism.
    The FACT that we are sliding into the abyss cannot be gainsaid. But what EXPLAINS it? In particular, what explains the fact that a good half of the people present in the USA do not understand that DIVERSITY unrestrained will destroy the already weak bonds that make for the limited social cohesion we now enjoy?
    The main threat to the republic is the invasion of illegal aliens that is intentionally promoted by the Biden admin. We will either collapse internally from civil unrest as drug cartels battle drug cartels, BLM and Antifa thugs battle white supremacists (yes there are some), normal business enterprises collapse because of widespread looting, etc etc. This internal collapse will so weaken us that we will be ripe for takeover by our geopolitical enemies who have already infiltrated all our institutions.
    Malcolm, five questions for you:
    (1) Do you agree that the main threat we face is the illegal invasion and not ‘climate change,’ ‘white supremacy’ or anything else?
    (2) Do you agree that the illegal invasion is intentional and encouraged by the Biden admin and the hate-America Left and acquiesced in by the lazy, inattentive, know-nothing rank-and-file Dem useful idiots?
    (3) If yes to (2), could the Biden gang really be that evil, and the useful idiots that stupid?
    (4) Could anyone other than Trump turn things around?
    (5) What is the likelihood that the Trump will be assassinated?

    What really can’t go on is the relentless “other-ing” of half the country, shown in this Sept. 1, 2022 quote by Biden:
    “MAGA Republicans have made their choice. They embrace anger. They thrive on chaos. They live not in the light of truth but in the shadow of lies.”
    I fail in my Christian duty not to hate, in the face of this stuff.

    That’s quite a range of questions there! Some I can answer easily in the ComBox, but… well, I’ll try.
    1) Yes, of course!
    2) Yes. (If not, they would be doing something about it.)
    3) Yes. But: is Socrates right that nobody knowingly chooses evil? Perhaps, in their way, they (or some at least) think they are working for the greater good: giving the poor and oppressed a slice of America’s largesse, while at the same time fostering demographic change, thereby diluting whiteness and ensuring that the evil Right will be at a permanent electoral disadvantage. None of the lefties I know think they’re being evil; they think they’re being kind, and just, and leveling inequalities. It comes down to what your moral and metaphysical axioms are.
    4) I think we have already devolved to such factional bitterness that we have slipped outside the boundaries of what a Republic in the style of the Founding can hold together; this system was designed for a moral, religious, cohesive, homogeneous, self-governing polity, with an anchoring belief in shared transcendent principles. But that America no longer exists. Now we have so little commonality that there is really nothing to hold things together; we’re just hyenas fighting over a corpse.
    In such situations, the usual next step is some sort of Strong Man seizing power to maintain a sullen and resentful peace, or the collapse and breakapart of the former nation or empire. So I don’t think that Trump, or anyone else, can “fix” things within the traditional American constitutional system. No matter what happens in this presidential election, the losing side is not going to accept the result.
    5) These people will stop at nothing. I hope DJT is “watching his six’.

    Thanks for the excellent response. We are in agreement.
    In (3) you touch upon some important, difficult, and perhaps insoluble problems about the respective roles of intellect and will in the causation of bad behavior. In the case of the lefties you mention, I tend to think that they are more stupid than evil. But in the case of a scumbag such as Mayorkas, he must have some sense that he is doing wrong with his brazen serial lies and Orwellianisms.
