Trump is Off-Putting?

Indeed he is. But he's all we've got.

A couple of Fox personalities interviewed him the other night. He kept referring to DeSantis as "DeSanctimonious."

The man has no class. This is a large part of the reason why bow-tied, yap-and-scribble Beltway conserve-nothing cuckservatives can't abide him. But class is overrated in any case and useless in a war if not positively dangerous. It would be great if the civility and grace of a Reagan could be married to the cojones of a Trump, but that can't happen due to human, all-too-human, limitations.

In a war you need someone who is willing and able to fight, and fight to win. And he has to be electable: he has to have popular support. If you don't think Trump's the man, tell me who is.

And if you don't think the Republic is hanging by a thread, then I recommend you listen to Mark Levin's Sunday night, January 7th show with Douglas Murray and Gordon Chang.

UPDATE (1/16/24)

Trump won Iowa with 51%: 56,260 votes. Christie brought up the rear, garnering all of 35 votes.  In other news, Bill Ackmann has dumped a cool one mil into Dean Phillips' kitty.  What I am missing, though, are the arguments against Trump. I don't see that Phillips or his pal Ackmann have given any. But then I have read only Ackman's long tweet and Phillips' annoyingly graphic and superficial website to which Ackman links. What are the arguments against the Orange Man? Trump = Hitler? Trump a cult leader? Tell that to some Iowa farmer with his pitchfork at the ready.

    Dr. Vallicella,
    The man is Vivek Ramaswamy.

    Fred,
VR is impressive. His day will come. He’s young, brilliant, and has the fire in the belly. For now, however, he is unelectable. So he can’t be the man. Trump, DeSantis, and Nikki are the only serious contenders. But I wouldn’t put any money on Haley: Christie is probably right that she’ll get “smoked.”

    Joe,
Warfare, warrior; lawfare, lawior? Whatever you call these scumbags, they are overplaying their hand. That’s the good news for us.
The bad news for them is that they are making it very clear to the dumbest among us what this battle for the soul of America is really about. And it is not primarily about Trump.
    2024 = SHTF?

Yes, very clear to the common man: seen now, with clarity, is that there is a small, insufferable elite who are Godless, and who hold us all in great contempt. And the spirit of the old democratic party, the spirit of “for the little guy against the fat cats,” is jumping to a new home. Then we can clear the obstructions and with our efforts of collective genius, really and truly make America great again. Who in their right mind could be against that?

    Spot on, Joe.
Trump could use the Copland piece to promote his populism.

Oh, and by the way: If Trump had “class,” his enemies (read: your enemies) would use it against him (and by extension, against you).
    Be glad he’s crude.

Trump is the great clarifier. He has forced leftists, against their intentions, to show their true colors. Now all can see what they are about: the destruction of America as she was founded to be.
Our old friend Malcolm Pollack wrote a very good post on civil war back in 2019. https://malcolmpollack.com/2019/03/07/on-civil-war/
You know things are heating up when guns and ammo are flying off the shelves and prepper-tactical shops and suppliers are springing up everywhere.

What an infuriating article over at the Bulwark.

Rabbi Dov Fischer nails it yet again. This might be worth its own post.
