Footnotes to Plato from the foothills of the Superstition Mountains

Is Race a False Theory? Is it a Theory at All?

A strange idea has gained currency recently, namely, that racial differences are invented, that race is a social construct, a theory, indeed a false theory.  And so we hear David Livingstone Smith, a professor of philosophy from the University of New England, asserting that "Phenotypic diversity is a fact, but race is a theory."

Malcolm Pollack  offers a critique.
