{"id":9085,"date":"2013-01-06T15:45:36","date_gmt":"2013-01-06T15:45:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/maverickphilosopher.blog\/index.php\/2013\/01\/06\/more-on-religion-as-open-ended-animal-sacrifice\/"},"modified":"2013-01-06T15:45:36","modified_gmt":"2013-01-06T15:45:36","slug":"more-on-religion-as-open-ended-animal-sacrifice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/maverickphilosopher.blog\/index.php\/2013\/01\/06\/more-on-religion-as-open-ended-animal-sacrifice\/","title":{"rendered":"Animal Sacrifice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino;\">I recently presented an alternative to&#0160;the conceit shared by both atheists and immature religionists that religion is static, a closed system of doctrines and practices insusceptible of development and correction and refinement.&#0160;The following is a bit of evidence for the alternative.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino;\">The ancients sacrificed animals <em>outside them<\/em> on the altar of divine worship.&#0160; Progress was made when more spiritually advanced individuals realized that it is the animal <em>in them<\/em> that needs sacrificing.
