The Left's economic gaslighting  is well-exposed and refuted by Jeffrey H. Anderson<\/a> at City Journal<\/em>:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe economic news in 2023 was almost miraculously good,\u201d the New York Times<\/em>\u2019s Paul Krugman enthuses<\/a>, as the American \u201ceconomy continues to look like an amazing success story.\u201d The title of a Financial Times<\/em> article emphasizes<\/a> the \u201cstrange lack of electoral reward for the success of Bidenomics.\u201d CNN\u2019s MJ Lee reports<\/a> that the president himself is confused by the \u201csignificant gulf\u201d between an economy that seems to be \u201chumming along\u201d and \u201cthe public\u2019s stubbornly grim sentiment.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In an article for Time<\/em>, Lee Drutman opines<\/a> that the disconnect between the economy\u2019s performance and voters\u2019 attitudes \u201cis bad news for our democracy,\u201d as it \u201cmeans that performance doesn\u2019t matter for presidential incumbents.\u201d Walking out even further on a limb, MSNBC\u2019s Stephanie Ruhle asks<\/a>, \u201cIs it the \u2018economy\u2019 Americans are talking about, or is that code for life itself? In other words, how do people feel about life right now? . . . Here\u2019s an example: Connecting with friends and family.\u201d Who knew that the perceived shortcomings of the economy are really attributable to shortfalls in personal intimacy?<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
