A resident who witnessed the execution said the seven were shot dead by a firing squad, a first in the kingdom, which traditionally has beheaded convicts sentenced to death. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino;\">[. . .]<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino;\">The original sentences called for death by firing squad and crucifixion.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino;\">That&#39;s the one extreme, justice Sharia-style.&#0160; Here is the other, justice liberal-style, if you want to call it &#39;justice&#39;:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino;\">Amnesty International called the executions an &quot;act of sheer brutality.&quot;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino;\">&quot;We are outraged by the execution of seven men in Saudi Arabia this morning. <strong>We oppose the death penalty in all circumstances<\/strong>, but this case has been particularly shocking,&quot; said Philip Luther, Amnesty&#39;s Middle East and North Africa director.
