His violation of the proper limits of executive power has become breathtaking. It\u2019s not just making recess appointments <a data-xslt=\"_http\" href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/court-says-obama-exceeded-authority-in-making-appointments\/2013\/01\/25\/b7e1b692-6713-11e2-9e1b-07db1d2ccd5b_story.html\">when the Senate is in session<\/a>. It\u2019s not just unilaterally imposing a law Congress had refused to pass \u2014 the Dream Act \u2014 by <a data-xslt=\"_http\" href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/us-will-stop-deporting-some-illegal-immigrants-who-came-here-as-children\/2012\/06\/15\/gJQANBbseV_story.html\">brazenly suspending large sections<\/a> of the immigration laws.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino;\">We\u2019ve now reached a point where a flailing president, desperate to deflect the opprobrium heaped upon him for the <a data-xslt=\"_http\" href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/blogs\/fact-checker\/wp\/2013\/10\/30\/obamas-pledge-that-no-one-will-take-away-your-health-plan\/\">false promise<\/a> that you could keep your health plan if you wanted to, calls a <a data-xslt=\"_http\" href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/national\/health-science\/obamas-health-law-fix-sends-insurers-officials-scrambling\/2013\/11\/15\/33440766-4e24-11e3-ac54-aa84301ced81_story.html\">hasty news conference<\/a> urging both <a data-xslt=\"_http\" href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/obamato-to-announce-change-to-address-health-insurance-cancellations\/2013\/11\/14\/3be49d24-4d37-11e3-9890-a1e0997fb0c0_story.html?hpid=z1\">insurers and the states to reinstate millions of such plans<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino;\">Except that he is asking them to break the law. His own law. Under Obamacare, no insurer may issue a policy after 2013 that does not meet the law\u2019s minimum coverage requirements. These plans were canceled because they do not. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino;\">The law remains unchanged. The regulations governing that law remain unchanged.
