Because I allowed myself to be drawn into pointless conversation that makes a mockery of true conversation. The New Testament has harsh words for idle words:<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino;\">But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. (MT 12:36, King James)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino;\">A hard saying!&#0160; Somewhat softer is Will Rogers&#39; advice:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino;\">Never miss an opportunity to keep your mouth shut.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino;\">The social lifts us from the animal, but in almost every case impedes individuation which is our main spiritual vocation.
