If God exists, then God is simple.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino;\">2. Nothing is or can be simple.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino;\">Therefore<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino;\">3. God does not exist.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino;\">The classical theist makes a modus ponens of the above modus tollens, arguing:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino;\">1. If God exists, then God is simple.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino;\">~3. God exists.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino;\">Therefore<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino;\">~2. Something is and can be simple.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino;\">The ontic theist &#8212; to give him a name &#8212; holds that God is a being among beings.&#0160; He argues:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino;\">2. Nothing is or can be simple.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino;\">~3. God exists.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino;\">Therefore<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino;\">~1.
