{"id":6769,"date":"2015-12-21T05:53:40","date_gmt":"2015-12-21T05:53:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/maverickphilosopher.blog\/index.php\/2015\/12\/21\/hate-crimes-against-jews-and-muslims\/"},"modified":"2015-12-21T05:53:40","modified_gmt":"2015-12-21T05:53:40","slug":"hate-crimes-against-jews-and-muslims","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/maverickphilosopher.blog\/index.php\/2015\/12\/21\/hate-crimes-against-jews-and-muslims\/","title":{"rendered":"Hate Crimes Against Jews and Muslims"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino;\">Supposing we acquiesce in the &#39;hate crimes&#39; terminology, here are some interesting statistics from the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fbi.gov\/about-us\/cjis\/ucr\/hate-crime\/2013\/topic-pages\/victims\/victims_final\"> FBI<\/a> for 2013:<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"blue-header\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino;\"><em>Religious bias<\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"hatecrimebody\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino;\">Of the 1,223 victims of anti-religious hate crimes:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino;\">60.3 percent were victims of crimes motivated by their offenders\u2019 anti-Jewish bias.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino;\">13.7 percent were victims of anti-Islamic (Muslim) bias.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino;\">6.1 percent were victims of anti-Catholic bias.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino;\">4.3 percent were victims of bias against groups of individuals of varying religions (anti-multiple religions, group).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino;\">3.8 percent were victims of anti-Protestant bias.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino;\">0.6 percent were victims of anti-Atheist\/Agnostic bias.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino;\">11.2 percent were victims of bias against other religions (anti-other religion).
