Enough of &#39;you must.&#39;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino;\">Completely depoliticize the mind in order to humanize it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino;\">Write the claustrophobic &#8212; and comedies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino;\">Deal with death, which is to say, accept it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino;\">Accept making a spectacle of yourself. &#0160;I will not die of this anguish. &#0160;If I died from it, the end. &#0160;Otherwise, at worst, shortsighted behavior. &#0160;It suffices to accept others&#39; judgment. &#0160;Humility and acceptance: purely medical remedies of anguish. (p. 203)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino;\"> <a class=\"asset-img-link\" href=\"http:\/\/maverickphilosopher.typepad.com\/.a\/6a010535ce1cf6970c01b8d1fd2ec5970c-pi\" style=\"float: left;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Camus\" class=\"asset  asset-image at-xid-6a010535ce1cf6970c01b8d1fd2ec5970c img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/maverickphilosopher.typepad.com\/.a\/6a010535ce1cf6970c01b8d1fd2ec5970c-320wi\" style=\"margin: 0px 5px 5px 0px;\" title=\"Camus\" \/><\/a>Like his hero Nietzsche, Camus had the throbbing heart of the <em>homo religiosus<\/em> but the bladed intellect of the skeptic: he could not bring himself to believe. Trust in the ultimate sense of things was impossible for this argonaut of the Absurd, as was hope. &#0160;Thus humility and acceptance could only be for him &quot;purely medical remedies.&quot; &#0160;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino;\">And how could he completely depoliticize his mind when the only world for him was this miserably political one?
