We need to explore modes of political divorce shy of secession. But the only one I can think of is a return to federalism.  That might not be enough to ease tensions.<\/span><\/p>\n

If the current Cold Civil War turns hot, the Left will lose: we have the guns. But the resort to arms is not a form of political cleansing any rational and morally decent patriot could wish for.<\/span><\/p>\n

United we stand; divided we fall. To which the reply will be: we are already too divided to stand united; better to seek peace through separation.<\/span><\/p>\n
