{"id":5076,"date":"2017-11-03T15:30:11","date_gmt":"2017-11-03T15:30:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/maverickphilosopher.blog\/index.php\/2017\/11\/03\/latest-georgetwn-university-outrage\/"},"modified":"2017-11-03T15:30:11","modified_gmt":"2017-11-03T15:30:11","slug":"latest-georgetwn-university-outrage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/maverickphilosopher.blog\/index.php\/2017\/11\/03\/latest-georgetwn-university-outrage\/","title":{"rendered":"Latest Georgetown University Outrage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 11pt;\">More proof that <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2017\/10\/27\/georgetown-university-threatens-student-group-upholding-catholic-teachings\/\">leftists are termites<\/a>:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 11pt;\">Georgetown\u2019s&#0160;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.georgetown.edu\/about\/jesuit-and-catholic-heritage\">website<\/a>&#0160;proclaims it is \u201cthe oldest Catholic and Jesuit institute of higher learning in the United States\u201d and is \u201cdeeply rooted in the Catholic faith.\u201d One campus group is learning, however, Georgetown\u2019s roots might not be deep enough.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 11pt;\">Love Saxa is a recognized student group on the Georgetown campus, and it exists \u201cto promote healthy relationships on campus through cultivating a proper understanding of sex, gender, marriage, and family among Georgetown students.\u201d Given the emphasis the Catholic Church puts on these issues (for example, see&#0160;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.usccb.org\/issues-and-action\/marriage-and-family\/marriage\/promotion-and-defense-of-marriage\/frequently-asked-questions-on-defense-of-marriage.cfm\">here<\/a>&#0160;and&#0160;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.usccb.org\/issues-and-action\/marriage-and-family\/marriage\/promotion-and-defense-of-marriage\/index.cfm\">here<\/a>), and Love Saxa\u2019s alignment with church doctrine, one might believe it safe to assume Love Saxa is squarely within safe territory at a Catholic university.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 11pt;\">But, oh, the perils of assumption. Love Saxa is in danger of being stripped of its status as an official student group. Its offense: holding to a Catholic view of human sexuality.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 11pt;\">What can you do? Well, if you are a GU alumnus or alumna, make sure GU does not get one penny from you.
