I made a &#39;pilgrimage&#39; to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.citylights.com\/ferlinghetti\/\">Lawrence Ferlinghetti<\/a>&#39;s famous bookstore in the early &#39;70s. That was before the Kerouac street sign was up.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 11pt;\">Some of Ferlinghetti&#39;s poetry can be read <a href=\"https:\/\/www.poetryfoundation.org\/poets\/lawrence-ferlinghetti\">here<\/a>.&#0160; To my surprise, Ferlinghetti is still alive at 99.
