Why Hillary and Obama Tweeted About \u2018Easter Worshippers\u2019<\/span><\/h1>\n

S<\/span><\/span>ometimes, a few sentences tell you more about a person\u2014and, more importantly, an ideology\u2014than a learned thesis. That is the case with tweets from Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama in response to the mass murder of more than 300 Christians and others in Sri Lanka.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Their tweets are worth serious analysis because they reveal a great deal about the Left. Of course, they reveal a great deal about Clinton and Obama, too, but that doesn\u2019t interest me.<\/span><\/p>\n

And that, too, is important. Many Americans\u2014especially conservatives and \u201cindependents\u201d\u2014are more interested in individual politicians than in political ideologies.<\/span><\/p>\n

Many conservatives have long been fixated on Clinton\u2014so much so that probably any other Democrat would have defeated Donald Trump, as conservative anger specifically toward her propelled many people to the polls. Similarly, Republican NeverTrumpers are fixated on Trump rather than policy. They care more about Trump\u2019s personal flaws than about the mortal dangers the Left poses to America and the West or about the uniquely successful conservative policies Trump promulgates.<\/span><\/p>\n

BV Comments:  This is an extremely important point, one I have been making for years. It is profoundly STUPID and demonstrative of a failure to grasp the nature of practical politics for a never-trumping conservative to fixate upon, and stumble over, the barnacles and carbuncles of Trump's character while ignoring the roughly equal characterological flaws of leftists such as Hillary Clinton.  It is the ideas, the principles, the values, the programs, policies, and presuppositions that matter. Would that the pearl-clutchers could see this. <\/span><\/p>\n

And independents all claim to vote \u201cfor the person, not the party.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

BV: Well, I am registered Independent, but I don't make this stupid claim.<\/span><\/p>\n

Only leftists understand that one must vote left no matter who the Democrat is, no matter who the Republican opponent is. Leftists are completely interchangeable: There is no ideological difference among the 20 or so Democrats running for president. Mayor Pete Buttigieg is not one degree to the right of Kamala Harris or Elizabeth Warren.<\/span><\/p>\n

BV: That's right. They say the same things using almost identical formulations.<\/span><\/p>\n

That is why it is important to understand Clinton and Obama\u2019s tweets: to understand the left, not to understand her or him.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here are the tweets:<\/span><\/p>\n

Obama: \u201cThe attacks on tourists and Easter worshippers in Sri Lanka are an attack on humanity. On a day devoted to love, redemption, and renewal, we pray for the victims and stand with the people of Sri Lanka.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Three hours later, Clinton tweeted: \u201cOn this holy weekend for many faiths, we must stand united against hatred and violence. I\u2019m praying for everyone affected by today\u2019s horrific attacks on Easter worshippers and travelers in Sri Lanka.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

As they both spelled \u201cworshipers\u201d the same idiosyncratic way and used the term \u201cEaster worshippers,\u201d it is likely they either had the same writers or Clinton copied Obama.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what\u2019s critical: Neither used the word \u201cChristians.\u201d And in order to avoid doing so, they went so far as to make up a new term\u2014\u201dEaster worshippers\u201d\u2014heretofore unknown to any Christian.<\/span><\/p>\n

BV: Christians don't worship Easter; they worship the risen Christ.<\/span><\/p>\n

When Jews were murdered at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh, Clinton mentioned the synagogue in a tweet. But in her post-Sri Lanka tweet, despite the bombing of three churches filled with Christians, Clinton made no mention of church or churches. In a tweet after the massacre of Muslims in New Zealand, she wrote that her heart broke for \u201cthe global Muslim community.\u201d But in her latest tweet, not a word about Christians or the global Christian community.<\/span><\/p>\n

Obama similarly wrote in his tweet about New Zealand that he was grieving with \u201cthe Muslim community\u201d over the \u201chorrible massacre in the Mosques.\u201d But in his tweet about Sri Lanka, there is no mention of Christians or churches.<\/span><\/p>\n

The reason neither of them mentioned Christians or churches is that the left has essentially forbidden mention of all the anti-Christian murders perpetrated by Muslims in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa and of all the Muslim desecration of churches in Europe, Africa and anywhere else.<\/strong> This is part of the same phenomenon\u2014that I and others have documented\u2014of British police and politicians covering up six years of rape of 1,400 of English girls by Muslim \u201cgrooming gangs\u201d in Rotherham and elsewhere in England. (emphasis added by BV)<\/span><\/p>\n

Essentially, the left\u2019s rule is that nothing bad\u2014no matter how true\u2014may be said about Muslims or Islam and nothing good\u2014no matter how true\u2014may be said of Christians or Christianity.<\/span><\/p>\n

BV: It certainly seems that way, doesn't it?<\/span><\/p>\n

Clinton\u2019s post-New Zealand tweet also included these words: \u201cWe must continue to fight the perpetuation and normalization of Islamophobia and racism in all its forms. White supremacist terrorists must be condemned by leaders everywhere. Their murderous hatred must be stopped.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

She made sure to condemn \u201cIslamophobia,\u201d but she wrote not a word about the far more destructive and widespread hatred of Christians in the Muslim world, seen in Muslims\u2019 virtual elimination of the Christian communities in the Middle East, the regular murder and kidnappings of Coptic Christians in Egypt and the murder of Christians in Nigeria. She calls on \u201cleaders everywhere\u201d to condemn \u201cwhite supremacist terrorists,\u201d one of the smallest hate groups on Earth, but never calls on leaders everywhere to condemn Islamist terrorists, the largest hate group on Earth.<\/span><\/p>\n

These two tweets tell you a lot about Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. But far more importantly, they tell you a lot about the Left.<\/span><\/p>\n

BV: Prager should have pointed out that there is no such thing as 'Islamophobia.' The term was invented by the Left to prevent rational discourse. Fear of Islamic terrorism is entirely rational, and therefore not a phobia. It is the foolish conservative who uses the made-up word as if it is a legitimate term.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prager should also have proffered an explanation of why the Left is in cahoots with radical Islam.  I address the question<\/span> here<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n
