THE WRATH OF THE AWAKENED SAXON

It was not part of their blood,<\/span>
It came to them very late,<\/span>
With long arrears to make good,<\/span>
When the Saxon began to hate.<\/span><\/p>\n

They were not easily moved,<\/span>
They were icy — willing to wait<\/span>
Till every count should be proved,<\/span>
Ere the Saxon began to hate.<\/span><\/p>\n

Their voices were even and low.<\/span>
Their eyes were level and straight.<\/span>
There was neither sign nor show<\/span>
