The heavens are literally harmonious. He said, \u201cI believe that there are musical notes and harmonies on all planets.\u201d This included planet earth. Sibelius\u2019s experience of the world was essentially musical.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt;\">[. . .]<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt;\">Though Sibelius was not religious in a conventional sense, he was a deep believer. \u201cThe essence of man\u2019s being,\u201d he said, \u201cis his striving after God.\u201d He saw art as hieratic and composition as a vocation. In words that could hardly go more directly to the heart of the matter, he said, \u201cIt [composition] is brought to life by means of the&#0160;<em>Logos<\/em>, the divine in art.
