I wake up early in the morning \u2026 And I feel perfectly safe.\u201d He dismissed Republican concerns about safety as \u201cfull of it,\u201d but, of course, Schumer&#0160;<a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/jimthompson\/2025\/08\/13\/schumer-gaslights-about-dc-crime-gets-pantsed-by-senator-mullin-and-his-own-security-detail-n2192790?utm_source=rsmorningbriefingvip&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=nl\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">doesn\u2019t go anywhere<\/a>&#0160;without his security detail. In a similar vein, D.C. Councilmember Charles Allen&#0160;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wtol.com\/article\/news\/dc-police-federal-takeover-leaders-react\/65-3da19009-6021-4152-9cbf-9f7c9eb53147\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">called<\/a>&#0160;the federalization of law enforcement \u201cunnecessary, unwarranted,\u201d and the D.C. Council emphasized that crime rates are at \u201cthe lowest rates we\u2019ve seen in 30 years.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 14pt;\">John Lott goes on to argue that &quot;D.C.\u2019s murder rate ran 169 percent higher than Louisiana\u2019s, the deadliest state, and an astonishing 523 percent higher than that of the average state.&quot;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 14pt;\">Lott is one of those who invariably talks sense in stark contrast to our political enemies.&#0160;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 14pt;\">The Dems are a contemptible bunch. I could easily list ten reasons. Two near the top are their breathtaking mendacity and their casual attitude toward criminality.
