I used to joke about them ending up graduate student <em>emeriti<\/em>.&#0160; Desultory and undisciplined, and allowed to take incompletes in their courses, they took them in spades. And so the above line from <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Big_Chill_(film)\">The Big Chill<\/a> (1983) stuck with me.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 13pt;\">William Hurt has died at age 71.
