In 2001, the Mises Institute, then run by trad&#0160;Catholic Lew Rockwell, awarded him its&#0160;<a href=\"https:\/\/mises.org\/profile\/antony-g-n-flew\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Schlarbaum Prize<\/a>. His&#0160;1981&#0160;<em><a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">The Politics of Procrustes <\/a><\/em>tore into Rawls&#39;s&#0160;<em>Theory of Justice.&#0160;<\/em>This was all before he went deistic, as was his 1995&#0160;<a href=\"http:\/\/libertarian.co.uk\/2019\/08\/21\/atheist-notes-006-the-terror-of-islam-1995-by-professor-antony-flew\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">&quot;The Terrors of Islam.&quot;<\/a>&#0160;My friend David Gordon&#39;s&#0160;<a href=\"https:\/\/mises.org\/wire\/antony-flew-rip\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">brief notice<\/a>&#0160;of Flew&#39;s death credits the influence of&#0160;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Rediscovery-Wisdom-Antiquity-Quest-Sophia\/dp\/0333747119\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">David Conway<\/a>&#0160;to his abandonment of his long-held atheism.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 13pt;\">I have the <em>Politics of Procrustes<\/em> in my library and drew upon it when I taught political philosophy at Case Western Reserve University. Flew had a salutary influence on my thinking in those days, as did Robert Nozick, although I find libertarians too &#39;economic&#39; in their thinking and insufficiently appreciative of cultural considerations.&#0160;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 13pt;\">If Tony has Conway&#39;s book and is willing to part with it, he can contact me.
