The Greek theore\u014d<\/em> (\u03b8\u03b5\u03c9\u03c1\u03ad\u03c9) means to <\/em>look at; gaze; spectate; form a picture. \u201cTheory\u201d comes from the noun for \u201cspectacle\u201d and the verb \u201cto behold,\u201d theaomai<\/em> (\u03b8\u03b5\u03ac\u03bf\u03bc\u03b1\u03b9), from which we get \u201ctheater.\u201d A theoros<\/em> is a spectator. \u201cWhen all the people who had gathered to witness this spectacle (\u03b8\u03b5\u03c9\u03c1\u03af\u03b1\u03bd, the\u014drian<\/em>) saw what took place, they beat their breasts and went away\u201d (Luke 23:48). \u201cHe [Jesus] beholds (\u03b8\u03b5\u03c9\u03c1\u03b5\u1fd6) a commotion with people crying and wailing loudly\u201d (Mark 5:38).<\/span><\/div>\n
