{"id":12631,"date":"2009-05-18T13:02:27","date_gmt":"2009-05-18T13:02:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/maverickphilosopher.blog\/index.php\/2009\/05\/18\/in-praise-of-a-lowly-adjunct-2\/"},"modified":"2009-05-18T13:02:27","modified_gmt":"2009-05-18T13:02:27","slug":"in-praise-of-a-lowly-adjunct-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/maverickphilosopher.blog\/index.php\/2009\/05\/18\/in-praise-of-a-lowly-adjunct-2\/","title":{"rendered":"In Praise of a Lowly Adjunct"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"TEXT-ALIGN: justify\"><font face=\"Georgia\">The best undergraduate philosophy teacher I had was a lowly adjunct, one Richard Morris, M.A. (Glasgow).&#0160; I thought of him the other day in connection with John Hospers whose <em>An Introduction to Philosophical Analysis<\/em> (2nd ed.) he had assigned for a course entitled &quot;Linguistic Philosophy.&quot;&#0160; I also took a course in logic from him.&#0160; The text was Irving Copi&#39;s <em>Symbolic Logic<\/em> (3rd ed.)
