{"id":11162,"date":"2010-10-31T19:18:11","date_gmt":"2010-10-31T19:18:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/maverickphilosopher.blog\/index.php\/2010\/10\/31\/kerouac-october-quotation-30\/"},"modified":"2010-10-31T19:18:11","modified_gmt":"2010-10-31T19:18:11","slug":"kerouac-october-quotation-30","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/maverickphilosopher.blog\/index.php\/2010\/10\/31\/kerouac-october-quotation-30\/","title":{"rendered":"Kerouac October Quotation #30"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino;\">The despairing section X of Book Thirteen of <em>Vanity of Duluoz<\/em> which I quoted <a href=\"http:\/\/maverickphilosopher.typepad.com\/maverick_philosopher\/2010\/10\/kerouac-october-quotation-30-the-holes-in-jesus-and-buddhas-bags.html\" target=\"_self\">yesterday<\/a> is followed immediately by this:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino;\">Yet I saw the cross just then when I closed my eyes after writing all this.&#0160; I cant escape its mysterious penetration into all this brutality.&#0160; I just simply SEE it all the time, even the Greek cross sometimes.&#0160; I hope it will all turn out true.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino;\">It is fitting to conclude Kerouac month with the last section of Jack&#39;s last book, a section in which, while alluding to the Catholic mass, he raises his glass to his own piecemeal suicide:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino;\">Forget it wifey. Go to sleep.
