Dennett,<\/a> spiced up with some trash talk of his own. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino;\">Mr. Dawkins? \u201cDancing on the lunatic fringe,\u201d Mr. Plantinga declares. Mr. Dennett? A reverse fundamentalist who proceeds by \u201cinane ridicule and burlesque\u201d rather than by careful philosophical argument.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino;\">On the telephone Mr. Plantinga was milder in tone but no less direct. \u201cIt seems to me that many naturalists, people who are super-atheists, try to co-opt science and say it supports naturalism,\u201d he said. \u201cI think it\u2019s a complete mistake and ought to be pointed out.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino;\">Exactly right.&#0160; The notion that science supports the philosophical position, naturalism, is an error no less grotesque for being widespread.
